How to Make an Appointment
I provide individual therapy for those ages 25 and older. I will see individuals under age 25 if the presenting issue is a perinatal concern. My practice is located in Manhattan, KS. I am not able to provide services outside of Kansas. My primary area of special focus is perinatal (pregnancy/postpartum) mental health. Secondary specialty interests include anxiety disorders and sleep issues. Prior to scheduling an appointment, we will talk by phone to determine if I'm the best person to help you. If you would be better served by another provider or agency, I will help you find a better fit.
I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance and Tricare Insurance. Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Tricare must be your primary insurance company. I do not process secondary insurance claims. If you are insured by another company, I encourage you to find an in-network provider. If you would still prefer to see me, you may need to pay in full at the time of service. I will provide you with a document, called a superbill, that you can submit to your insurance company. If you have questions about seeing me, or need a help finding an in-network provider, you can leave a message for me with my answering service (785)236-5147 or e-mail me at [email protected].
To initiate the screening process, please call my answering service at 785.236.5147. They will take your information and you will receive a call back from me. Alternatively, you can fill out the form below or contact me by email at [email protected]. Please be aware that neither email nor the form below, are considered a secure form of communication. College Students
I do not normally accept college students in my practice. The exception to this is if the student is experiencing a perinatal concern. For other concerns, my top recommendation is KSU Counseling Services, a low-cost, on campus option.
Couples Counseling
As a clinical psychologist, my training focused on providing individual adult psychotherapy. For the most part, I do not provide couples counseling. I will see couples who are dealing with miscarriage, stillbirth or TFMR. I will also see couples in the postpartum period. Outside of that, I generally refer out to other therapists whose specialty focus is on marriage and family therapy. If you are looking for a couples therapist, I would suggest considering The KSU Family Center. Other options include searching sites like Psychology Today and Good Therapy for couples counselors within our zip code. Therapists with LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist) are especially well trained in couples issues.
Emotional Support Animals (ESA)
I do NOT accept inquiries from those seeking an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letter. My position on the topic is that ESA letters should be reserved for those truly disabled by a mental health condition. If a person is disabled by a mental health condition, they should have a long-term treatment team member (therapist, psychiatrist, case worker) who could verify the need for an ESA. If you have not needed long-term psychiatric treatment, it is not likely that you have the kind of severe, debilitating mental health condition that an ESA should be reserved for. If you need an ESA letter, I would suggest contacting Courser Lapo Clinical & Family Services (courserlapo.com). They will do an evaluation and determine if you are eligible for an ESA.
HIPAA-compliant telehealth services are available.
