Local Parenting Resources in MHK

Parenting is not easy.  It's better if you find friends who can help support you through the rough days.  Here in Manhattan, there are parenting groups that can help you meet other parents and build up a support network.

The main parenting group in Manhattan, KS is Little Apple Families.  This group is a great place to get connected with all of the many events aimed at parents in our area, like library storytimes, Songtime with Mr. Steve, activities at the Sunset Zoo and the Flint Hills Discovery Center.  You have to join their "future members" group in order to get started.

Manhattan Attachment Parenting Group is a smaller group aimed at parents who practice AP parenting (which may include gentle discipline, baby wearing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding.)  While this group isn't for everyone, it is a good fit for parents who find themselves falling more on the "AP" end of the parenting spectrum.  As with LAF, you have to join their "pending members" group before being added to the main Facebook group.  La Leche League is a breastfeeding support resource.  They have monthly meetings (4th Tuesday and 2nd Saturday) as well as trained leaders who can provide 1:1 breastfeeding support.
